Project Description

INDUSTRY LEADING FLARING SOLUTIONS

UTILITY FLARE

NON-ASSISTED

Our utility flare is one of the most commonly available flare types used in the oil and gas industry, that is free of any form of assist mediums (steam, air) to remain within 40 CFR 60.18 regulations. Common applications include tank batteries and emergency flare scenarios.

It features a proprietary stainless steel tip that allows for increased air induction resulting in a better air-gas mixture, that contributes to smokeless operations across the designated flow rate.

Equipment ranges in size and options based on your information and application, ranging from 20′ to 120′. Our standard designs come in sizes of 30′, 50′, and 65′.

We have the capability to size and design our utility flare system based on any operational details, specifications, drawings, gas composition, or full scope of work that may be provided. Additionally, we are able to provide spacing requirements, thermal radiation charts and flame impingement distance, and detailed drawings and models to ensure it is built to proper facility specification.

EXPLORE SERVICES

AIR-ASSISTED FLARE

Kalos OFS’ air-assisted flares are comprised of two or three stacks (that incorporate single or multiple gas sources and a blower stack) and an appropriately sized blower motor that introduces a supplemental air source for proper mixing and smokeless operation. Using a combination of the blower, air-gas mixing plates, a specifically design entry and mixing point, and our Venturi Tip, we are able to ensure you are smokeless across the full range of flow.

Air-assisted flares are able to take a source of higher BTU content gas, commonly known as dirty, wet, or fat gas, and combine with air source for better fuel mixture and cleaner combustion. This can also be coupled with a low pressure gas source using our proprietary stack design to dispose of multiple fuel sources.

Kalos OFS also uses a proprietary system as a fail safe should your facility lose power, ensuring no gas is able to enter the air stack and ignite causing a blowout of the blower motor.

We size the stacks appropriately to ensure we maintain proper gas velocity and pressure adherence, ensuring equipment is built to facility specifications. This allows us to be fully compliant with Quad-O/40 CFR 60.18 regulations and fully maintain 98%+ VOC destruction efficiency.

GAS-ASSISTED FLARE

Our gas-assisted flares utilize a machined stainless steel insert into our Venturi Tip that introduced a supplemental, pressurized gas source drawn from the pilot fuel source. Depending on the application, the gas-assist ring can be included as insert or as essentially a crown that can be designed to sit on top of the existing tip.

Our gas-assisted flares come installed with all necessary equipment and lines to provide for easy and automatic operations. If performing a retrofit where smokeless operation may be needed, we offer the option of full installation services. We utilize control valves to increase or decrease the flow of the gas based on supply of flare gas, and can provide all of the data you need related to fuel consumption and velocity.

In addition to our full service and design capability being provided, gas-assist flares are a much less capital intensive way of achieving smokeless operations, and are provided to ensure you remain fully compliant with Quad-O/40 CFR 60.18 regulations and maintain 98%+ VOC destruction efficiency.
